The Cannes Film Festival, founded in 1939, is one of the world’s oldest, most influential and prestigious film festivals alongside Venice and Berlin. The 61st Annual Cannes Film Festival was held 14 to 25 May 2008. "Megatron" was one of the nine films selected for the "short film Palme d’Or" competition. The competing film depicts the story of Maxim, who lives together with his mother in a village near Bucharest.
