Festival de Cannes: "Palme d'Or - Short Film"

On the 25th of May, the film "Megatron" was awarded "Palme d'Or - Short Film" prize at The 61st Annual Cannes Film Festival. The award was received by the director, Marian Crisan.

‘Megatron’ tells the story of Maxim, a boy of 8 living with his mother, Gabriela Crisu in a village near Bucharest. For his birthday, Maxim’s mother will take him to the Capital city, to McDonalds. But what the boy wants most is to meet his father who lives in Bucharest.

The Cannes Film Festival, founded in 1939, is one of the world’s oldest, most influential and prestigious film festivals alongside Venice and Berlin. The 61st Annual Cannes Film Festival was held 14 to 25 May 2008. "Megatron" was one of the nine films selected for the "short film Palme d’Or" competition. The competing film depicts the story of Maxim, who lives together with his mother in a village near Bucharest. It's his birthday, he's turning eight and for his birthday party, his mother takes him to Bucharest, to a McDonalds restaurant.
